Middle School Basketball Rules of Engagement

Officials Protocol:
Officials Arrival Time: 5:30 PM in officials’ locker room
Pregame: 5:40- 5:50 PM
On Floor Arrival: 5:50 PM
Coaches’/Captains’ Conference: 5:52 PM
Table Crew Conference: 5:55 PM
Game Ball: 5:59 PM
Postgame: At the end of the two game set in officials locker room

Officials Uniform:
Black/White Stripe(no patch) Shirt, solid Black Shorts, Black Shoes, Whistle ANDLanyard, MSOA jackets are not required. (All or none if worn)

Escambia County School District Middle School Basketball RULES

GAME NOTES : Start Time 6:00 PM Girls game first then Boys game follows 10 minutes after

(Home Team may not be the Host team - check before starting)

RULES:
Time: 20 minute running halves
Regulation clock last minute of each half
Timeouts: Two fulltimeouts per half. NO carry over.
Overtime:each team awarded one additional timeout
Overtime Period will be THREEadditional minutes first two minutes running (last minute, regulation clock)

Warm-up: 10 minute warm up period
Half Time: 10 minute half time
All dressed out players must play in each half and be listed in book

Home team provides the game ball
Girls use the intermediate size ball (28.5)

Timing NOTES:
On shooting free throws the CLOCK stops when ball is at
disposal of shooter
Clock stops on injuries, table problems and timeouts

UNIFORMS: Shirts tucked in if designed to do so
Pants pulled up above the waist
Undershirts non-frayed must match the torso of the jersey
Headbands/Wristbands can be white, black, beige or single school color
Headbands/Wristbands all team members the same

SPECIAL EVENT:
Crew Chief(R) check with host school coach/admin lengthened half time or warm up delay
